PYA Member Training

On 20^th February 2020 the new PYA and LYC members received their New Member Induction Training.

This training includes signing the PYA code of conduct and contract. New members learned about the roles and responsibilities of Penarth Town Council and the Vale of Glamorgan Council. We also learned about their responsibilities as youth councillors.

One of our PYA members ran an activity to teach all new members about the different branches of participation in the Vale Youth Service such as Youth Action Groups like PYA and LYC, Youth Cabinet, Rights Ambassadors and other groups.

The new members also had the chance to talk about any new projects they would like to work on in the next action plan. Some ideas were a bullying campaign and creating resources to help educate young people on school in politics and talking about decisions made by adults that can affect them.
