The PYA chair is now a member of the GPG Committee. PYA have attended some GPG meetings and helped with the planning of the GPG website and 10th Anniversary Event.
PYA have previously worked with GPG when we did the coffee shop survey, planting the orchard and the Access Penarth Survey.
The point of the event was to celebrate the amazing work that GPG have done over the last 10 years. GPG also wanted to hear from local residents and businesses about what they think are most pressing environmental issues at the moment. This will hopefully help to bring the community together so we can all work on protecting our environment as a town. .
There were guest speakers from different Local Authorities explain what they have done in their areas to help the environment. The Chair and Vice Chair of PYA gave a speech about the work we have done with GPG in the last few years, the work we hope to continue doing and why protecting the environment is so important to young people. The results of this year’s Make Your Mark campaign showed this with 57% of young people in the Vale voting for Protect the Environment.
We will continue to work with GPG on future projects and continue to work with LYC on our recycling project.
