We are thrilled to announce that The Kymin has been awarded Green Flag status.

Following an improvement programme in the grounds of one of Penarth’s County Treasures, including new planting schemes, additional signage, more colour and future plans that will extend the biodiversity and accessibility of the park, The Kymin has been recognised as an outstanding green space.

Green Flag is the benchmark for parks and green spaces in the UK and beyond. Wherever you see a Green Flag, you know you’re visiting an exceptional place with the highest standards

Town Clerk, Emma Boylan, said “The quality and standard of work exhibited at the Kymin which has resulted in the Council achieving Green Flag status is testament to the hard work and commitment of the town council who are striving to provide excellence at its strategic venues in the town.  The Council is delighted to be awarded its first Green Flag  and hopes that the residents and tourists to Penarth will visit the Kymin and benefit from the displays of horticulture and biodiversity”.

The Kymin grounds are open to the public daily and can be accessed during daylight hours from a gate on Kymin Terrace, or through the main entrance on Beach Road.
