Track work Dingle Road Station and Penarth Station
There will be work taking place on the railway, between 9th September and 8th November 2019. The work will be split into three segments.
Preparatory work
This includes taking delivery of materials, unloading ballast and validating the designs for the core work. This will take place each night from 2300 to 0030 from Monday 9th September to Friday 13th September 2019 and again from 2300 to 0600 from Monday 16th September 2019 to Friday 20th September 2019.
Core track renewal work
The core work is planned to take place each nigh between 2030 and 0530 from Monday 23rd September to Friday 27th September 2019 and will include the alignment of the track by compressing the ballast (tamping), using heavy rail machinery.
Finalisation work
This will take place over from 2330 to 0600 each night from 30th September and 4th October 2019 and from 2100 Sunday, 06th October 2019 until 0500 Monday 7th October 2019 and includes platform alterations, rail resilience, stabilisation and further track alignment by compressing the ballast (tamping) as necessary.
