Join us for a fun and entertaining evening all about apples with the best-selling author of Apples of Wales. We’ll be discussing – and possibly tasting – this humble fruit that’s so central to our history and culture here in Wales.

Thursday 8 October

St Augustines Hall, Albert Road, Penarth

7pm – doors open 6.30

£3 – tickets here

Carwyn Graves is an author, public speaker and gardener from Wales. His bestselling Apples of Wales / Afalau Cymru (2018) tells the hitherto untold story of apple growing in Wales.

This fascinating work reconnects us today with our centuries-old apple growing heritage in Wales and encourages us to rethink the place of the humble apple in our culture and landscape today and for years to come.

Carwyn’s other books include Welsh Food Stories (2022), Tir: The Story of the Welsh Landscape (2024) and Cynefin (2026).

As well as best-selling author, Carwyn is co-founder and Director at new Welsh charity, Cegin y Bobl (The People’s Kitchen), set up to equip communities with cooking skills so that everyone has access to healthy, delicious food.

Join us for a fun and entertaining evening that’s bound to leave you with food for thought (and possibly some apples on your palate).
