Transport for Wales will be undertaking ground investigation work between 30th September 2023 and 14th October 2023 just north of Penarth Station. This is to assess the banking either side of the track in the location to assess the typography and ground conditions ahead of the proposed construction of a new arrivals platform. Construction is not due to begin until 2024.
This work will occur at night whilst trains are not running to ensure the safety of Transport for Wales workers. Transport for Wales will be mitigating noise and disruption to nearby properties and neighbours through the use of quieter equipment, installing soundproof barriers and by facing all lighting away from properties.
