Town Mayor’s Charity Work Continues

The Town Mayor’s busy calendar of charity activities continued this month.

The Town Mayor of Penarth, Councillor Ken Lloyd and his Consort, Ms Georgia Bennett spent a day volunteering at the Cancer Research UK shop on Stanwell Road – finding out more from the manager Paul about how the shop runs and how it helps the charity.

The Mayor also recently held a charity table top sale in the Paget Rooms on 14^th April, along with a coffee morning on 20^th April. Collectively these two events helped raised around £400 towards the final total of the year’s charitable fundraising.

These events support the Mayor’s chosen charities for 2017 – 2018, RNIB and Cancer Research UK.

Councillor Ken Lloyd’s term as Mayor will end in May, when he will hold a presentation to present his two charities with the final total raised.
