Town Mayor, Cllr Ian Buckley presents local educator, Pauline Rowlands, with a retirement present on behalf of the governors of Cogan nursery.

Cogan Nursery has been key in the development of so many children from Cogan, Penarth, Cardiff, Sully, Barry and Dinas Powys . Children at Cogan Nursery join when they are 3 and transfer to primary school in the September before they are 5. Ms Rowlands has been at the start of so many educational journeys over the years during her 15 years at the nursery.

The nursery are especially proud of their outdoor learning space where children can play together, learn about the natural environment, and most importantly use their own initiative to solve problems and co-operate with others.

Cllr Buckly said:

“Pauline has dedicated the last 15 to ensuring her pupils were given the best possible foundation to build their academic and social future on, while ensuring that the parents and staff were equally looked after and valued. She will be sorely missed by everyone that has been lucky enough to have had the pleasure of working with or studying under and we all wish her the very best for the next chapter of her life.

Everyone at Cogan Nursery said Ms Rowlands will be missed and wish her all the best in her retirement.
