Penarth Town Council is pleased to have recently received confirmation from the Auditor General for Wales that the 2023/24 audit of accounts has been concluded with an unqualified report.
The 2023/24 accounts were subject to a full transactional audit. This was the first audit of this type for Penarth Town Council under the new arrangements that were introduced by Audit Wales in 2021. This involved a significant amount of work and information being supplied to Audit Wales in August 2024.
There were no matters they wished to bring to the Council’s attention, with the audit concluding that all relevant legislation and regulatory requirements have been met.
Council welcomed this news at the Annual General Meeting on May 16th 2025 and commended the work done.
