In December 2020, Penarth Town Council awarded a grant of £230 to Soroptimists Barry and District to fund their Easter Chicks Project. Each year, volunteers knit Easter chicks and fill then with chocolate eggs so that they help raise funds for the Velindre Cancer Centre. The funding helped towards the cost of purchasing eggs, packaging and labels.
Penarth Town Council are delighted to hear that the project raised a huge £2000 for Velindre Cancer Centre! To find out more about Velindre and the work that they do, visit their Facebook page here.
