For many people, Christmas can be a worrying and lonely time.
Every year since 1930s, Penarth Town Council has co-ordinated the delivery of Christmas food parcels to older people and families in need through its charity, the Santa Clause Benevolent Fund. With the valuable help of Penarth Round Table, applicants receive a delivery of festive food that helps to make Christmas a little easier.
Donations to the Santa Clause Benevolent Fund are accepted throughout the year and collections are made at the Summer and Christmas Festivals. You can now also support the charity through Co-Op Membership; simply log on to your account and select ‘Santa Clause Benevolent Fund’ and 1% of everything you spend at Co-Op throughout the year will go directly to those in need.
Other organisations throughout the town, including Tabernacle Church, collect food for those in need.
