Winning Poem Text – Mali, Pen Y Garth
Dail yn diflannu
Anifeiliaid yn cysgu
Haul yn machlud cyn amser gwely
Cropian lawr y llawr
Cyn toriad y wawr
Beth sydd yn aros o dan y goeden fawr?
Clychau yn canu
Eglwysi yn llenwi
Oes na le i ni gyd yn y llety?
Digon o chwerthin
Digon o ddathlu
Ond ydy o fel hyn i bawb eleni?
Tai distaw
Hosanau heb ddim
Boliau llwglyd, bwyd yn brin
Ynghanol y miri
Y chwerthin a’r dathlu
Nid yw’r Nadolig yr un peth i bawb yng Nghymru.
Cofiwch hyn
A byddwch yn garedig
Helwch bawb yn ystod y Nadolig
Winning Poem Text – Mali, Pen Y Garth
Translation:
Leaves disappearing
Animals sleeping
The sun setting before bedtime
Creeping Downstairs
Before the dawn
What is there under the tree?
Bells ringing
Churches filling
Is there room for us all in the stable?
Plenty of laughter
Plenty of celebrating
But is it like this for everyone this year?
Silent houses
Stockings with nothing
Empty bellies, food is scarce.
Amongst the merriment
The laughter and the celebrating
Christmas is not the same for everyone in Wales.
Remember this
And be kind
Help everyone this Christmas
