West House garden’s eye-catching transformation received a generous boost on Friday with a new public bench and table.

Cllr. Ken Lloyd and his consort, Ms. Georgia Bennett donated the items in commemoration of their service as Penarth’s 2017-18 Town Mayor and Consort but also, and more importantly, in memory of their late spouses, Joan Lloyd and John Bennett.

The donation and installation was marked with a ceremony on Friday 14th September, attended by friends, colleagues and well-wishers, along with the current Town Mayor, Cllr. Jon Luxton.

The seating provides a peaceful, contemplative space in the public garden, serving as a suitable tribute to Ken and Georgia’s loved ones, along with their tireless work as Mayor and Consort.

This newest addition is the latest in the ongoing transformation of West House Garden and the successful Penarth in Bloom project.
