On Saturday, 5th March 2016 Town Councillors, Town Council staff, members of Penarth Youth Action, staff from Costa Coffee and members of the public litter picked targeted areas in Penarth as part of the Clean for the Queen campaign.

The campaign was launched by Country Life Magazine in collaboration with Keep Britain Tidy and encouraged local groups and individuals to clean up their local area in time for the monarch’s 90th birthday in June.

The teams of volunteers targeted the Dingle steps, Kymin path, Kymin foreshore, Clifftop car park and Mr Robert Donaldson led a team to clear areas in the Cogan area.  The Town Council wish to thank all those who gave their time to improve their local community.

The Town Council wishes to thank Colin Smith, Works Manager at the Vale of Glamorgan Council and his colleagues for providing litter picking equipment and arranging to collect the bags of litter collected.  Also, thanks to Tim Wort of Keep Wales Tidy for advice and support.
