Without the Windsor-Clive family, Penarth as we know it would not exist.  They acquired the land, made it accessible, designed and created a completely new settlement.  To them we owe the quirky street plan, the odd street names, the parks and gardens, the feel and character of the place.  But who were they?

The talk will trace how the Windsors and the Clives – long little known outside their respective midland counties – seized opportunities to increase their wealth and influence.  Marriage between them created one of the most important families in Victorian Glamorgan, and Penarth remains indelibly marked by their energy and vision.

Guest Speaker : Chris Riley
Doors open 6.30 PM, talk starts at 7.00PM.
