DESCRIPTION:Young film-making duo Falling Films enjoyed walking past Balmoral\, and were intrigued when the ship “disappeared” in Spring 2024. Harry Knight’s “snapshot day” turned into months of fascination\, following Balmoral in and out of the Albion Dock Company’s dry dock\, capturing with her people their part in the love story of “Saving MV Balmoral for Bristol and Beyond” – a project enabled by The Heritage Fund. Inspired by hearing the recording of Balmoral’s launch at her 75th anniversary celebrations\, Harry and Maria have created a fine film where sound can be enjoyed too. \nThe 40 minute film with handouts is followed by Q+A discussion. https://www.thebalmoral.org.uk

Always designed around the learning styles of our youngest audience members\, Little Concerts are perfect for both tiny tots and children up to 10 years. \n‘THE SING THING’ features brilliant young professional soprano\, alto\, tenor and bass singers in a joyful hour of exciting music from Mozart to new takes on nursery rhymes with percussion. Experience the musical building blocks of high and low\, slow and fast\, musical texture and colours through movement and touch. Expertly devised so that children can feel in their playful bodies what they are hearing. Interactive craft objects and instruments included for children’s use at the event. \nThis event is presented as part of the RWCMD-in-Residence programme\, a series of creative projects from Royal Welsh College musicians presented in partnership with Penarth Pavilion. \nIdeal for families with children from 0 – 10 years.
